Mildred "Millie" A. Miller
Swisher
Mildred “Millie” A. Miller, 89, of Swisher, went to be home with her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a steadfast friend to many. Her unwavering faith, strength, and kind-hearted nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Shueyville Church.
Mildred was born on June 26, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Earl and Alma (Pudil) Pospisil. Millie was raised in a home filled with love and values that she carried throughout her life. She was a woman who lived with an open heart, always putting her family first and ensuring they felt her unconditional love and support. She graduated from Wilson High School, class of 1953. Millie worked at Iowa National Insurance Company, Prairie High School – in the Resource Center, and at Swisher Post Office for 21 years, retiring in 1999. She was an active member of the Shueyville Church. Millie enjoyed reading, card club, attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities, and most of all spending time with her loving family.
Millie is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Donald Miller; her four devoted daughters: Lynn (Steve) Mallicoat, Nancy Brown, Debie (Stuart) Towe, and Kristina (Shawn) Nove; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Jim Bys; all of whom were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Kuda, who died on January 13, 1967, her brother Richard Pospisil, and her daughter Diane Bys, whom she deeply missed.
Millie’s life was a testament to the power of faith and love. She will be remembered for her gentle smile, her warm embrace, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Though her absence leaves a profound void, her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to inspire those who loved her.
She will be forever loved and missed.
Memorials may be directed to the Shueyville Church in her name.
