MILDRED K. ORMISTON

Mildred K. Ormiston, 95, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Vinton, Dean (Hope) and Maynard (Nancy), both of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Carol Ormiston of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Melvin Pexa. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Darrel, Andrea and Eric; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Charles; and three brothers.
Mildred was born on Oct. 12, 1923, in Guernsey, the daughter of Frank and Maria (Meinke) Pexa. She married Frank C. Ormiston on Dec. 21, 1946, in Davenport. Frank passed away in 2002.
Mildred lived a long fortunate life, she enjoyed volunteering, any card game, crocheting and cooking meals from her garden.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
