Mildred M. Dvorak, 88, of Marion, died at home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Nick
Longworth. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial: St. Patrick's Cemetery, Tama.
Mildred was born Nov. 4, 1926, the daughter of Rudy and Lottie Vratisovsky. She attended Richland No. 4 School. At the end of World War II, she met a handsome returning soldier, Edward R. Dvorak, and on Jan. 7, 1947, they were married. Together they farmed the land, where Mildred was born, until Ed's death in 1985. Mildred moved to Marion after that to be closer to her daughters.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Luke and Cindy J. Dvorak (John Combellick); granddaughter, Katie Tihpen (Chris Nugent); great-grandchildren, Jiles, Jayden, Kalen, Maddox and Presley; and special friend and dancing partner, Marvin Evers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Frances Baker and Libbie Behaunek and son-in-law Galen Luke.
