Mildred D. Wright, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at the Living Center West Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids. Per her wishes, she was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mildred was born on Nov. 14, 1929. She retired from St. Luke's Hospital after many years of service. Mildred enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her beloved family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three children, Mary Wright, Frank (Barb) Wright and Christine (Tom) Wodstrchill; seven grandchildren; Jason (Leah) Wright, Chrystal Wright, Kim Schaffer, Karen (JJ) Bading, Kara Granados (Wright), Nicole (Antonio) Jaquez and Jesse Wodstrchill (Krystle Hewitt); 17 great-grandchildren, Jaden, Amee, Jasmin, Lucas, Jorge Jr., Emiliano, Neva, Reyna, Alejandra, Damian, Jaxon, Kirra, Taylor, Angela, Sara, Mariah and Noel; one great-great grandchildren, Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVerne Wright; two biological sisters, Mildred and Margaret; and two brothers, Frank and Donald Yuska.
A special thank-you to Melanie and Doug Bramaw and Shelly Christopherson for all their tender loving care given to Mildred.
