MIKE WRIGHT
Cedar Rapids
It is with extreme sadness the family of Michael Wright announce his passing on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
Mike was an incredible husband, father, brother, son and friend, who died way too early after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer at the age of 57.
Mike will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Donna; their amazing children, Mikala (Ryan) and Brandon; his mother, Barbara; his siblings, Jon (Mary), Jamie and Kris; his nephews, Sean and Thomas; nieces, Rhianne, Samara and Hannah; and sister-in-law, Karrie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence.
Mike was a fun-loving, goofy guy, with a great sense of humor, who loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, family and puppies. He also dearly loved coaching kids and spending time outdoors riding his bike and watching sports, especially kid's sports. He was incredibly proud of his two children and would spend hours talking with and about them. He majored in philosophy and psychology and loved great philosophical conversations with friends and family. His other passions were traveling, cooking and martial arts.
A celebration of Mike's life will be Saturday, March 18, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Vineyards at Chappel Lodge, 1215 Chappell Lane, Austin, TX 78748.
