Mike Reilly, 76, of Marion, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before the celebration of life at the funeral home in Marion. To honor Mike, the family requests casual dress.
Survivors include his brothers, Gary (Sandra) Reilly of Rogers, Ark., and Larry (Necie Lenel) Reilly of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Stacy (Jeffrey) Castillo of Fort Worth, Texas; best friend and companion, Donna Reilly of Marion, and her children, Tina Renee (Kirk) Cunningham of Hinsdale, Ill., Shane Reilly (Alisse Diers) of Marion and Josh Reilly (May Vitug) of Richmond, Calif; grandchildren, Reilly, Coleman and Kirby Cunningham and Reagan Reilly; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Mike was born March 13, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Thomas Joseph and Agnes Glyn (Waite) Reilly. He graduated from University of Texas– Arlington, with a degree in geology.
Mike was an avid woodworker and skilled craftsman, most recently working on his retirement cabin in East Texas. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and rock collecting. He loved to read, and had a continued interest in learning. Family was very important.
Mike will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in Mike's memory.
