Midge Cathleen Saba, 77,
of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Friday, March 23, 2018, with family by her side. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at St. George Orthodox Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church with a Trisagion prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.
Midge was born March 18, 1941, in St. Paul, Minn., to Gordon and Edith Robinson. She met George Saba in Bismarck, N.D. They had their first date on the first day of spring in 1958. They were married on the sixth day of November 1958, Election Day.
Midge was the loving mother of six sons, Michael (Pascale), baby Jesse, Pierre (Cheryl), baby George, Nicholas and baby Anthony; she was also a special mom to Matthew (Melanie) and Lesa (Sean); and 15 beautiful grandchildren. She also is survived by siblings, Denise Reib, Lauren Robinson, Rose Stock, Elise Tyler, Rene' Turner, Reuben Belverstone and Esther Kryger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Judith; and three brothers, Jesse, Charles and Melvin.
A special thanks to Casey and Cheryl Saba and especially to Dr. Mary Anne Nelson who cared for Midge.
Memorial donations may be given to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church or to the Saba family.
