Mick, M. Ruth
M. Ruth Mick, 80, of 219 Boyson Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Per Ruth's request, there will be no services. She has donated her body to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry of Cedar Rapids; children, Deborah Klinger of Delhi, Gary (Sally) Aiken of Sagle, Idaho, Pamela Bemisdarfer of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Yoder of Vinton, Jeff (Janice) Mick of Mount Vernon, Joe (Jamie) Mick of Cedar Rapids and Karen Allen of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Klinger, Dennis and Jennifer Bemisdarfer, Brandon, James, and Andrew Yoder, Jenny, Jason, and Andrew Mick, and A.J. and Chris Allen; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Maria) Webb of Miami; two sisters, Margie Webb of Puerto Rico and Sue Nieves of Miami; and special cousin, Marilyn (Newt) Metz of Balsam, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, J. Edward and Lucille Mick; three brothers-in-law, Gene Mick, Robert Mick and Dan Darrow; and three sisters-in-law, Judy Mick, Judith E. Mick and Charlotte Darrow.
Ruth was born July 15, 1932, the daughter of Bill and Louise Webb. She married Fred Aiken, and they later divorced. She then married Jerry Mick in 1972. Ruth worked as an inspector for Rockwell Collins for 37 years, retiring in 1992.
She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed bowling, traveling, and reading. However, Ruth's greatest love of all was the time spent with her beloved family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the local American Heart Association at 3741 Center Point Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, in Ruth's memory.
