Mick, Jerry E.
Jerry E. Mick, 78, of 219 Boyson Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at home with family. Per Jerry's request, there will be no services.
Survivors include children, Jeff (Janice) Mick of Mount Vernon, Joe (Jamie) Mick of Cedar Rapids, Karen Allen of Phoenix, Ariz., Deborah Klinger of Delhi, Gary (Sally) Aiken of Sagle, Idaho, Pamela Aiken of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Yoder of Vinton; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Klinger, Jenny, Jason and Andrew Mick, A.J. and Chris Allen, Dennis Bemisdarfer, Brandon, James and Andrew Yoder; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Phyliss) Mick of Vinton and David (Marge) Mick of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, M. Ruth Mick; his parents, J. Edward and Lucille Mick; two brothers, Gene Mick and Robert Mick; a sister, Charlotte Darrow; a brother-in-law, Dan Darrow; two sisters-in-law, Judy Mick and Judith Mick.
Jerry was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of J. Edward and Lucille Mick. He married Shirley Berry in 1954 and later divorced. He then married M. Ruth Aiken in 1972. He worked as an industrial engineer for Rockwell Collins for 40 years, retiring in 1992.
He was an active member of the Waltonians and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and being up to camp.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
