MICHIAL ALLEN GLICK
Olin
Michial Allen Glick was born in Anamosa, Iowa, on April 2, 1952. He died on Jan. 1, 2018, from sudden heart complications. Mike lived much of his life in Olin and later in Mount Vernon. He graduated from Olin Consolidated High School in 1970. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and spent time in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his service he returned to Olin and married Gayle Winkler in 1974. They were married for 26 years and had two boys, Shaun (Jessica Tucker) Glick of Iowa City and Brian Glick of Cedar Rapids. Mike worked for U.S. Nameplate in Mount Vernon for 29 years. He was also a proud and doting grandfather to Shaun and Jessica's daughter, Evelyn.
He is survived by his children and granddaughter; his brothers Rick (Robyn Williams) of Olin and Robert (Kelley) of Marion, and their families, Angie Glick (Javan Martin), Amber Kramer (Carter), Leslie Glick; and several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father, Jay Glick.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie; and his grandparents Miles and Nelly Glick and William and Florence Irving.
Mike was a devout Cubs, Bears and Hawkeye fan. He loved golfing, a good concert and spending time with his family and friends.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
There will celebration of life from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Lahey & Dawson Funeral Home in Olin. A private family burial will be held at Olin Cemetery.
