Michels, Joyce A.
Joyce A. Michels, 76, of Independence, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Grandview Care Center, Oelwein. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Surviving are five children, Bruce Michels of Rowley, Douglas (Martha) Michels of Independence, Kathryn Simmons of Thornton, Colo., Richard (Nancy) Michels of Bend, Ore., and Carol (Steve) Saddoris of Alburnett; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Richardson of Aurora and Darlene (Mike) Shelton of Underwood.
