Michele Lee Cooley, 56, of Shueyville, Iowa, died Saturday, December 6, 2025. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shueyville Cemetery, Shueyville.
Michele was born on November 10, 1969, in Clinton, Iowa, to Jeffrey and Ellen (Droste) Cooley. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1988 and went on to attend Luther College, where she graduated in 1992. She later graduated from the University of Iowa with her medical degree in 1997. Michele married John Howard Gluesing on October 28, 1995, in Clinton. She was an owner and pathologist at Weland Clinical Laboratories in Cedar Rapids. Michele enjoyed traveling, reading, puzzles, games, and shopping. She cherished time spent with her beloved Luther College girlfriends and, above all, with her husband and two sons.
Survivors include her husband, John Gluesing; sons, Ian Gluesing and Jack Gluesing; parents, Jeffrey and Ellen Cooley; brother, Dan Cooley; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Alta Droste and Orville and Enid Cooley; her uncles, John Droste and Steve Cooley; and her dogs, Allie and Twinkie.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a fund that will be established in Michele’s memory to support her favorite causes.
