Michal Joy Malone “Shelly”, 59, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at her daughter’s home under the care of Hospice of Mercy. Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with visitation to begin one hour prior.
Shelly was born September 20, 1963, in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Leone (Salo) Malone. She graduated from Cono Christian School. Shelly was an amazing pianist and sales lady. Shelly was an avid writer and reader and a font of useless trivia.
Survivors include her children, LeeAnn Jones and Zachariah Schminkey; grandchildren, Forsythia MacTaggart, Wyatt Jones, Serena MacTaggart, Paige Jones all of Cedar Rapids, Mary Jayne Presley Murphy and Raylee Murphy of Silver Bay, Minnesota; two brothers, two sisters, countless nieces, nephews, and every stray soul she could find.
Shelly was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Cindy, Jennifer, and Timothy; and nieces and nephews, Sonia, Bekah, and Billy.
