Michael Wilbur Reed, 66, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Family Center & Library, with military honors beginning at 2:00 PM.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Carmen; his children, Amber Carter of Cedar Rapids, Keneth Reed (Erica) of Marion, Colton Reed of Cedar Rapids, and Johnathan Reed of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Jesse, Collin, Cali, Grace, Nicole, and Richard; his siblings, Anthony Reed (Susan) of Marion and Heidi Reed-Becker (Travis) of Marion; and his stepmother, Lydia Reed of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael William Reed, and his brother Rick Allen Reed.
Michael was born on May 2, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald and Linda (Magnuson) Reed. He proudly served in the United States Army. Following his service, he returned to Cedar Rapids, where he went to work at Firestone Auto Care and then owned and operated 5 cabs through Century Cab for many years. He later worked as a driver for O’Reilly Auto Parts from 2007 until his retirement in 2017.
Michael had a passion for karaoke, fishing, and watching NASCAR and PGA golf. He also enjoyed working on vehicles. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.
