Michael enjoyed playing sports during his school years in little league baseball, football, BMX earning many trophies, and serving as goalie for his soccer team. During his elementary sixth grade year there was not a team able to score a goal against Michael. He excelled in the sports of swimming, snow and water skiing, baseball, tennis, ping pong, and biking. In his younger years, he could be found cutting firewood with his dad.
Traveling with his family was another favorite adventure that Michael enjoyed. The family was able to visit Scotland and England as well as visit many national parks and take a trip to see the Holiday Bowl game in San Diego.
Michael is survived by his parents: Bill and Colleen Thompson; sister, Janice (Nathan) Woods; nieces and nephew: Arianne (Daniel) Connors, Victoria (Richard) Clark, Amber (Trey) Talbert and Nicholas Woods; great-nieces and -nephew: Mila Clark, and Molleigh, Anna Beth and Beckett Talbert, and several cousins.
