MICHAEL SCHMUECKER
Watkins
Michael Joseph Schmuecker, 56, of Watkins, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watkins, with Father Ray Atwood officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's St. Paul Cemetery, Watkins. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Watkins.
A memorial fund has been established.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mike is survived by his wife, Susanne of Watkins; two children, Jareth (Alyssa) of Watkins and Cassandra Schmuecker of Watkins; a granddaughter, Elliette Schmuecker; a sister, Michelle (Duane) Koopman of Newhall; and a brother, Mark Schmuecker of Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Michael Schmuecker was born Dec. 31, 1959, the son of Melvin and Joann May Schmuecker. He graduated from Norway High School in 1978. He was united in marriage to Susanne Karen Bischof on June 27, 1987, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Watkins. Michael worked at Farmstead in Cedar Rapids and later at Williamsburg Manufacturing. Mike was assistant coach for the Watkins Mudhens Little League team.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing in his boat, NASCAR and camping. He loved his two cats, Precious and Pumpkin.
