Back in civilian life, he did a 5-year Plumber’s Apprenticeship, and married Nancy Kay Norman. Mike had two sons, Douglas Newsome and Michael Riddle (Debbie), and one daughter, Kathy Huber. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandchildren he loved, along with a sister, Jodi Bails (John), brother-in-law Don Heckroth, and sister-in-law Judy Husted (Wayne). Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Orville James Newsome (Jackie), and a sister, Louise Heckroth.
Mike enjoyed many years of softball with a team he truly felt dear to. Bowling was a passion; he traveled to many National Competitions each year.
After suffering for four years with COPD and Alzheimer’s, he found a better place. He will be remembered by those who loved him as a sweet gentleman and will be terribly missed.
