Michael Neal, 52, of North Liberty, passed away on July 3, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Services will follow at
11 a.m.
Mike was born on Aug. 20, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, to Mickey and Sharlene (Haney) Neal. Following graduation from Marion High School, Mike attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, where he received degrees in computer science and psychology. Mike worked at Schneider Electric in Cedar Rapids for over 23 years. His most recent position was customer service and quality manager for the Web Giants group. He enjoyed his job and his coworkers very much.
Mike met Wendy Martin in 1997. The couple moved from New London to North Liberty in 2000 and were married in June 2002. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed golfing, target shooting, fishing and cheering on the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a huge fan of Star Wars, Star Trek and Harry Potter. And he was always involved in a home improvement project at his or a family member’s home. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with them.
Mike is survived by his parents, Mickey and Sharlene Neal; wife, Wendy; children, Jessica (Nick) Wilson, Gunnar Neal and Jenny Neal; as well as his sisters, Kathy Neal and Sandra (James) Nichting.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
