Michael C. Moore, 66, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant. A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mount Pleasant. There will be no formal funeral
service.

Michael was born June 1, 1948, in Stamford, Conn., the son of Philip D. and Bonnie Jean (nee English) Moore. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1966 and Iowa Wesleyan College in 1971. Michael was conferred with a bachelor of arts degree in theater arts and English from Iowa Wesleyan. On Dec, 21, 1980, Michael married Terry Jean Jeffers.
Michael worked for Heatilator Industries and for 20 years and Motorola, both in Mount Pleasant. He then became a professional lighting technician. He was a lighting contractor to Sound Concepts in Cedar Rapids. He created lighting concepts and designs for the Five Seasons Center and the Freedom Center in Cedar Rapids, the Old Creamery Theater and the Heatilator Center for the Performing Arts and the Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel, both in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include his wife, Terry of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Philip Moore of Rome, Iowa, and Walter (Ashley) Moore of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Molly Moore McCormick of Jupiter, Fla.; and his stepmother, Helen Devenney Moore of St. Simons Island, Ga.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Brian McCormick.
