Michael Dean Mills, 47, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Dan Wiersema. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kimberly; ex-wife Teressa Weeter; daughters, Jordyn (JV) Mills of Cedar Falls and Jenna Mills of Waterloo; stepchildren, Kendall, Tyler and Tate Sanborn, all of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Emery Velasquez; foster dad, Dick Corwin of New Hartford; sister, Julie Messerly of Janesville; and brothers, Nick (Robin) Mills of Eldora, Troy Mills of Eldora, Clint (Karla) Mills of Independence and Casey Mills of Dunkerton.
Michael was preceded in death by his foster mom, Lorretta; and brother-in-law, Randy Messerly.
Michael was born April 7, 1971, in Waterloo, the son of Marlyn and Carol Roeding Mills and foster parents "Dick" Richard and Lorretta Porath Corwin. He attended East High, Waterloo, and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1989 and North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC), Mason City. Michael moved to Cedar Rapids in 2011, and married Kimberly Kenward on Sept. 30, 2017. He was the manager of Tuffy Tire and Auto Service Center.
Michael was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and loved motorcycle riding, fishing, golf, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
