Michael “Mike” John Hamer, 64, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at UIHC.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Private family committal will be the Downey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the Mike Hamer Memorial Fund has been established.
Mike deserved to be remembered and he will be. He will be remembered by all those he knew and loved.
Mike was born Sept. 1, 1956, in Iowa City, the son of Leo and Helen (Cooper) Hamer. He was a graduate of West High School. On June 3, 1983, Mike married June Tsuris in Iowa City.
Mike is survived by his wife, June; three children, Paul Hamer of Monument, Colo., Corie Williams (Tony) of Iowa City and Michelle Sexton (Michael) of West Branch; and six grandchildren, Caitlyn, Ethan, Brenna, Wyatt, Ginger and Jasper.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David, and Lawrence.
