MICHAEL B. "MIKE" LEYDEN

Michael Blair "Mike" Leyden, 71, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at his residence at Halcyon House following a one-year battle with cancer.
Celebration of Life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Calling hours will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County or Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Leyden of Washington; son, Mike (Andrea) Leyden of Washington; daughter, Angela (Jeff) Leyden-Van Gundy of Cedar Rapids; son, Lonnie Leyden of California; son, Joe Leyden of California; stepdaughter, Geri MacDonald of California; stepson, Lonnie (Stacy) Christner of Swisher; and stepdaughter, Teri (Troy) Fisher of Riverside; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; four brothers; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
