MICHAEL D. JOHNSON

Michael D. Johnson, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Per Michael's request, there will be no visitation or service. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl; many friends; and his cocker spaniel, Lydia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mike was born Sept. 2, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Keith and Della Dlouhy Johnson. He married Pearl J. Bean on Sept. 3, 1983, in Cedar Rapids.
Mike worked at Quaker Oats and retired from there after 42 years of service. He enjoyed target practice, 50s and 60s movies and music, dancing, riding motorcycles, fast cars and proudly serviced in the Army 129th Assault Helicopter Company in Vietnam.
Mike was a wonderful husband, son and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
