MICHAEL EDWARD JOHNSON
Cedar Rapids
Born Sept. 17, 1949, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was called home after battling a long illness on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
He leaves to honor his memory three children, Damon P. Martenia, Katherine J. Johnson and Brittany L. Johnson; a sister, Yvette L. Jackson of Milwaukee, Wis.; five grandsons; one granddaughter, Noelani MJ Tylee; another granddaughter; 10 great-grandchildren; one nephew, Johnny Earl Jackson; and one niece, Baisha Whitten.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Katherine Jackson.
Michael was a God-fearing man and extremely loving and kind. He was a loving son, proud father, loving brother and a wonderful grandfather and uncle.
Michael was always there to help his friends and was a respected man. He will be forever missed.
Memorial services have been relocated to Living Waters Kingdom Church, 1700 B Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9. Repass after at same location.
