Michael Harold Alden, 60, of Walker, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Funeral service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Center Point. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.
Michael was born Feb. 10, 1957, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Harold Alden and Carole Krumm. He graduated from Central City High School in 1975, and was a union iron worker for Local 89. Michael later started farming on his small acreage that included livestock. He loved the outdoors. Michael enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and trail bike riding. He adored his children and grandchildren; they were the loves of his life.
Michael is survived by his children, Adam Alden and Katelynne Alden of Monticello, Iowa; grandchildren, Ella, Jason Jr., Olivia, Alice, Serenity and Zander; siblings, Rebecca Hanrahan of Overland Park, Kan., Debora (Mark) Moser of West Union, Iowa, and Elizabeth (Jeff) Kurth of Marion, Iowa; and his aunts and uncles, including Fern Mollenhauer of Lafayette, Iowa, and Clarence Joyce of Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Carole; son, Jason Alden Sr.; and brother, Andrew "Andy" Alden.
