MICHAEL MAURICE GLESNE
Elkader
Michael Maurice Glesne, 37, of Elkader, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Michael was born in Elkader on Aug. 4, 1980 to Maury and Linda (Kuehl) Glesne. Michael was baptized and confirmed at Peace United Church of Christ. He graduated from Central Community High School with the Class of 1999 and earned his bachelor's degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
For the past several years, Michael help manage the family business in Elkader. The business (Coast to Coast) has been in the family for 127 years. He enjoyed all sports. He loved to golf and spend time with family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Maury and Linda Glesne of Elkader; sister, Denise Alexie of Strawberry Point; two nephews, Peyton and Taylor Alexie of Elkader; and many other family members and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by one sister, Michelle Glesne; paternal grandparents, Butch and Gladys Glesne; and maternal grandparents, Earl and Leta Kuehl.
Visitation: 3 to 8 pm Thursday, April 26, and after 10 a.m. Friday at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, at the church with the Rev. Jon Haack officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
