MICHAEL FREDERICK RIECHARD
Cedar Rapids
Michael Riechard passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.
Michael was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in which he attended Jefferson high school, graduating with the Class of 1999. He was a father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to many.
Michael gave his strength to the ones in his life. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He took pride in being there for his loved ones and often opened his home to friends in need. Michael's heart was large, as he had love for many people in his life. Michael was known for being a giver. If his family needed anything, Michael would build, repair, or work to provide for them. He also firmly believed that faith was the pathway to all doors.
Michael was an amazing man with many talents, including wrestling and extremely detailed work. He was a wonderful son and an even greater storyteller.
In his free time, Michael loved to spend time with his family, tinker, karaoke, fish, and sometimes participate in a good old-fashioned debate.
In 2003, Michael established Riechard Construction Co., in which he took great pride.
Michael is survived by his parents, John and Jacolyn Conner of Fairfax; his daughters, Mercedes and Leanna of Cedar Rapids; his brother, Joshua Conner (Selena) of Norway; his sisters, Jessica Conner of Cedar Rapids and Natasha Bartosh (Dillon) of Cedar Rapids; five grandkids, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and Tina Riechard and Christine Johnson.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret and James Conner, and Betty Jane and Clearance Countryman.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions in his daughter's name, Leanna Riechard, that will be accepted at the visitation.
