Michael M. Foss (Mr. Ross), 64, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. Andrew's Golf Club, Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his first love of 37 years, wife Connie.
His second love was golf. He's been a longstanding member of St. Andrew's Golf Club.
Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dan) Madden of Tampa, Fla., and Edna (John) O'Dell of Cary, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Joe (Pat) Perdue of Ottumwa and John Richmond of Anamosa; six nieces, three nephews, 12 great-nieces and nine great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Leo and Frances Richmond; brother, Steve Foss; sister, Pat Keupker; niece, Konnie Wickman; and two precious puppies, Muffin and Mollie Sue.
Michael Merdith Foss was born Feb. 19, 1951, in Sumner, Iowa, the son of Velmar "Bud" and Dellora "Dee" (Oltrogge) Foss. He graduated in 1969 from Orange High School in Waterloo, where he excelled in athletics. He then attended Iowa State and Buena Vista colleges. On May 12, 1979, he married Connie Richmond in Cedar Falls. Mike worked in sales at The AR-Jay Center for many years.
He loved golfing, Iowa Hawkeye sports, NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers.
He will be greatly missed by special friends and family at St. Andrew's Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
