Michael Douglas Taylor, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Dana Ruckebeil of Coralville, Hollie Taylor of Grovetown, Ga., Cindee Taylor of Cedar Rapids and Crystal Taylor of Coralville; his sons, Paul (Jess) Ruckebeil of Oxford and Michael Taylor of Tiffin; and his sister, Glenda Parker of Ewing, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Glen Taylor Jr.
Michael was born on March 24, 1950, in Maysville, Ky., the son of Glen and Betty Ravencraft Taylor. He graduated from Fleming County High School in Maysville and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mike was employed at Rockwell Collins and also did carpentry work.
Mike loved cars and baseball, and was a huge Chicago Cubs, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. He was very proud of his Corvette and loved taking it to car shows. Mike enjoyed watching television, especially John Wayne Westerns, "Let's Make a Deal" and "Wheel of Fortune." He was a man of many
one-word phrases, most notably, "unbelievable." Mike will be missed by his friends and family.
