MICHAEL CHEVALIER

Michael Maurice Chevalier, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died July 16, 2014, at the Iowa City VA Health System. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Salem United Methodist Church, 3715 33rd Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. A light luncheon will follow from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 298 in Marion. Michael has chosen cremation. You may pay your respects at the memorial service or American Legion.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Avis; children, Celeste Chevalier and Michael Chevalier; brother, Steven Chevalier; sisters, Judy, Debbie and Kathy; and grandson, Michael Gabriel Chevalier.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Chevalier.
Michael Chevalier was born May 25, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, served in the U.S. Navy from 1977 to 1986, and was a graduate of business management at Kirkwood Community College.
He was a beloved friend and family member.
Michael's favorite quote was, "Life is really simple, but we insist on making it really complicated."
