Michael Caudill, 72, of Solon, died on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in his home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time, Monday, December 15, 2025, at Victory in Grace, located at 1700 B Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2025, at the church. Burial will be in Wilcox Cemetery, Viola.
Michael was born on September 9, 1953, in Des Moines, the son of Donald L. and Geneva (Tharp) Caudill. He graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School, Class of 1971, following he served in the United States Air Force. Mike was united in marriage to Barbara Weets on June 16, 1984, in Mechanicsville. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degree in social work from the University of Iowa. Mike worked at the University of Iowa Psychiatric Hospital, University of Iowa Family Practice, Cedar County Health Services, Veterans Administration, and Mercy Services – Cedar Rapids. He volunteered at Elderly Services. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Cubs and his vizslas dogs.
Mike is survived by his daughter Ontario (Nathan) Richardson; his granddaughter Harper Richardson and one grandson on the way; his sister and two nephews; his former wife Barbara; and his best friends Dave, Don and Jim.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
