Michael Alan Little, 71, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Michael was born on March 14, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Richard and Mary (Frasher) Little. He was a 1971 graduate of Marion High School. On February 27, 1977, Michael was united in marriage to Linda Lee Vavra in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked at Dearborn Brass and then at Lefebure before spending 24 years in Maintenance at St. Luke’s Hospital. Michael was a founding member of Man Scouts, also known as the “Grand Popah.” He enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing, fishing, and loved playing cards with friends and family. Michael was a Little League Baseball Coach in Marion for many years. He was an excellent father, passionate about giving his boys and many other young men opportunities to participate in sports and to mentor them. Their family home was a home for many young folks in the community, and all were welcome. He was a man who truly cared about everyone. He gave the gift of life through tissue donation after his death. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Linda L. Little; son, Chad (Denise) Little, and their children, Gabriel and Paul Little; son, Shawn (Joyce) Little, and their children, Leah (Michael) Donnan, Tate, and Rilie Little; and son, Troy (Katie) Little, and their children, Ella, Josie, and Tucker Little; and sister, Chris (Tom) Yuva.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Todd Little.
