Michael A. Malloy, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly from a pulmonary embolism on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery, Swisher. A luncheon will follow at the Swisher American Legion.
Michael was born on September 9, 1962, in Waterloo, the son of Ron and Patty Malloy. He graduated from Waterloo West High School. Mike was known for his love of singing both at karaoke and for many weddings and funerals, in fact he was the 1st in line to grab the microphone. Mike was always the life of the party, usually the 1st to show up and the last to leave. He also enjoyed fishing and time with his children and grandchildren who he adored. He always showed up for his family.
Mike is survived by his wife Marisa; 2 children Allison Malloy, and Alexandra Ansell (Rochelle); his parents Ron and Patty Malloy; 3 amazing grandchildren Wesley, Vaylor, and Kaeani; his siblings Brian Malloy, Wendy Fay, Scott Malloy, Tim Malloy, and Kelly Malloy. Mike also had several nieces, nephews, and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by a child (Baby Malloy), a brother (Mark Malloy), and his grandparents (Ida & Orville Knowler), (Odema Lasswell), and (Gene Malloy).
