Micah Jolie Stine, 11, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018. Family and friends will gather to remember Micah from 2 to 6 p.m., with a sharing of memories at 6 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.

Survivors include her father, Mason (Kim) Stine of Mount Vernon; siblings, Tristan Humphrey, Hunter Humphrey, Tyler Stine and Dakota Mayberry; paternal grandparents, Neil and Janice Stine of Lisbon and Carol and Patsy Stone of Edgewood; maternal grandfather, Brian Oxley of Muscatine; maternal great-grandmother, Julie Oxley; aunt, Dawn Sutton; and uncles, Marvin Stine and Nick Oxley.

Micah was born Nov. 23, 2006, in Iowa City, the daughter of Mason Stine and Jennifer Oxley. Micah was a fifth-grade student at Mount Vernon Middle School. Micah was a warm and caring person to whom other students were drawn. She loved going to school and being with her classmates. Students and staff members will miss her presence a great deal. Micah loved her precious time spent cuddling with her dad and her beads, as she always had to have them close to look at and hear. The motto at the middle school is "You matter," and Micah truly mattered to her family, friends, classmates and educators. She will be remembered fondly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennifer; maternal grandmother, Terri Oxley; and uncle, Brian Stine.
