Meythaler, Ronald Eugene
Ronald Eugene Meythaler, 78, a longtime resident of Marion, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. A private service will be held Friday. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three children, Cindy (Jeff) Sinram of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Joe (Laurie) Meythaler of Marion and Leslie (Jeff) Riesberg of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Adam (Karen), Nick, and Evan Sinram, Eric and Mitchell Meythaler and Kelsey, Jake and Alex Riesberg; a great-granddaughter, Lily Sinram; and a sister, Carole Zingula of Surprise, Ariz.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was born Aug. 1, 1934, the son of William and Doris (Mosher) Meythaler in Independence, Iowa. On Dec. 27, 1953, he married Margaret Solomon at Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church. Ron and Margaret farmed for 51 years in the Marion area.
He was a longtime board member of Linn County Cattleman and a former board member of Linn County Co-op and a member of Linn County Farm Bureau. Ronald was a member of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church.
A memorial fund has been established in Ronald's memory.
