Meyer, Leslie W.
Leslie W. Meyer, 70, of Manchester, died at his home on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Lansing, the son of Leslie C. and Elsie V. (Schellhamer) Meyer. Les was raised and educated in the area, and was a Manchester High graduate. At First Lutheran Church in Manchester, Les was united in marriage to Leona H. Stone on June 30, 1962. Together they resided in Manchester. Les was employed by Barron Motor for 20 years and Standard Auto for 20 plus years.
Les enjoyed being with his family; his dog, Heidi; gambling with his friends, and John Wayne movies.
Survivors include his four sons, Wayne (Colleen) Meyer of Manchester, Jeff Meyer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Craig Meyer of Manchester and Jason (Beth) Meyer of Olathe, Kan.; his mother, Elsie Meyer of Edgewood; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Gerald (Patty) Meyer, Vern Meyer, Curt (Colleen) Meyer and Denny (Krista) Meyer, all of Manchester, the Rev. Rod (Cheryl) Meyer of Harcourt, Dale (Michelle) Meyer of Mount Horeb, Wis., and Bruce Meyer of Manchester; and a sister-in-law, Janet Meyer of Cedar Rapids.
Les was preceded in death by his wife, Leona on March 4, 2009; his father, Leslie W. Meyer; two brothers, Lyle and David; and a great-grandson, Bennett John Meyer.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, at First Lutheran Church in Manchester, by the Rev. Dr. Jean Rabary. Visitation: Sunday, April 21, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester and also one hour before services Monday at the church. Interment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
