Meyer, Kathleen 'Katie' L.

Kathleen “Katie” L. Meyer, 82, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at home. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Stanwood Union Church with Pastor Phil Leipold officiating. Burial: Stanwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Chapman's Funeral Home, Clarence.

Survivors include two sons, Mark of Stanwood and Kent (friend Delta Richardson) of Coralville; a daughter, Joan (Tom) Hanna of Mechanicsville; six grandchildren, Phillip Meyer, Jason Meyer, Brodee Hanna, Mary Beth Hanna, Alyssa Meyer and Krista Meyer; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Meyer, Zach Meyer and Landon Meyer; a brother, Steve Thompson of Keokuk; and a sister, Marcia (Don) Villhauer of Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Kathleen married Kenneth Meyer on Dec. 14, 1947 in Stanwood. He died Nov. 6, 2003.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stanwood Union Church, Red Hat Club and a bookkeeper for numerous organizations and individuals. Katie was a huge sports fan of North Cedar, especially for her grandchildren.

Anyone wishing to wear a hat to the services would be appreciated.
