Meyer, Jerry Donald

Jerry Donald Meyer, 69, of Oelwein, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein with Pastors Charis and Leo Combs-Lay officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home Tama-Toledo and Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein are handling the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 46 years, Iva Mae “Butch” Meyer of Oelwein; three children, Kevin Meyer and wife Nancy of Knoxville, Heidi Meyer and fiance Harvey Bolsinger of Strawberry Point, and Jeremy Meyer and wife Kristi of Tama; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Trevor, Coby, Jonathan, and Jenna Meyer; special uncle, Dale Williams and wife Phyllis of Fayette; and special cousins, Susan Williams, Jack Williams, Julie Williams, and Sally (Scott) Ives. Jerry is also survived by his special extended family, Mark (Barb) Bolsinger and children, Jenna, Brandon, Blake, and Tucker; Holly (Pete) Purman and children Alyssa and Zander; Kelly Bolsinger; and Joy (Adam) Meyer and daughter Tenley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
