Meyer, J. Annette
J. Annette Meyer, 74, of Coralville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at First Christian Church in Coralville. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union, Iowa.
Annette was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Marie (Flayharty) Meyer. Following graduation from Mount Union High School in 1955, she attended and graduated from the University of Iowa, and later from the University of Denver with her master's degree. She had made a career in broadcasting both radio and television, working in Dallas, New York and Denver, Colo.
Annette was an avid reader, she enjoyed collecting dolls, loved her music and especially her cats.
Her family includes her four nieces and one nephew: Gretchen Brister, Aubrie Meyer, Anna Shinpaugh, Katrina Meyer and Major Dennis Meyer, U.S. Army.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean A. Meyer; and her brother, Robert Meyer.
Memorial donations can be made in Annette's memory to First Christian Church.
