Meyer, Helen Maxine
Helen Maxine Meyer, 84, of 1503 F Ave. NW, No. 6A, formerly of Davenport, died at Mercy Medical Center on Nov. 25, 2010, after a short illness. Friends may visit Teahen Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial: Rock Island National Cemetery, at a later date.
Helen is survived by her son, John (Sandra) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Sara (Pat) Meyer of Rock Island, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Cora, Amy, Erica, Roxanne, Stephanie, Andrea and J.P.; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sister, Eileen Schramm; and brother, Louis Davis.
Helen Maxine Davis was born May 13, 1926, in Rock Creek Township, Ill., the daughter of Lloyd and Velma (Ramsey) Davis. She married William Meyer. She worked as a foreman at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, West Burlington, during two wars.
Helen loved traveling, doing crossword puzzles, jazz music, camping and fishing. Spending time with family was important and a joy to Helen.
