Mescher, Margaret 'Peggy'
Margaret “Peggy” Mescher, 79, of New Vienna, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, at her home after a courageous 3 ½-year battle with cancer to join her beloved husband Bob. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. John O'Connor.
Peggy is survived by five children, Kathy (Bob) Casey, Barrington, Ill., Janet El Khatib, Dubuque, Pat (Kim) Mescher, West Des Moines, Tony (Inger) Mescher, New Berlin, Wis., and Bob (Jeff Snyder) Mescher, Point Pleasant, N.J.; her 10 grandchildren, Pat Casey, Orlando, Fla., Khalid and Iman El Khatib, New York, N.Y., Sarah El Khatib, Dubuque, Bill and Dani Mescher, West Des Moines, Lauren and Andrew Mescher, New Berlin, Wis., and Alex and Lacy Mescher-Snyder, Point Pleasant, N.J. She is survived by her siblings, George Slagle, Scottsdale Ariz., Fran (Don) Wagner, Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Pat Mikkelson, Milwaukee, Wis. She is also survived by her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Laura (Eddie) Maiers, Al and Vi Mescher, Rose Johanningmeier, Fran Mescher, all of Dubuque, Don Mescher, Council Bluffs, Arlene Southwell, San Antonio, Texas, and Marion Mescher, Melbourne, Australia; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law and cousins.
