Byron L. Merrill, 88, of Winthrop, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, following a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Church of Christ United, Winthrop. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Fawcett Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Winthrop.
Survivors include two stepsons, Terry (Sharon) Fairchild of Winthrop, and Douglas (Kay) Fairchild of Sebring, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Janet (Rick) Higgins of Winthrop; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
