Merlin John Zwicki, 77, of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, July 14, 2014, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 29. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home with family present from 5 to 8 p.m.
Memorials in the name of Merlin John Zwicki may be designated to Hospice of Washington County or the Washington United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bev of Washington; daughters, Becky (Jim) Turnbull of Rushville, Mo., and Susie (Mark) Beatty of Washington; six grandchildren, Jason Turnbull and fiancee Shilo Brownell, Cody Turnbull and girlfriend Kenzie Olson, Ashley Beatty, Blair Turnbull, Alaina Beatty and Alijah Beatty; one sister-in-law, Betty Zwicki of Washington; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.
