Mercedes Galvan, 29, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with Father Ed Fitzpatrick officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the funeral. Family committal services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, at a later date. Memorials may be directed to an educational fund for her children, A.J. and Giana.
Mercedes was born July 13, 1993, Iowa City, the daughter of Marco and Elizabeth (Perez) Galvan. Mercedes was a graduate of West Liberty High School, where she was a cheerleader and received a degree as a medical assistant from Hamilton Technical College. She was employed at Acupuncture of Iowa.
Mercedes was a loving mom. She loved life, her children and the outdoors. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched.
Mercedes is survived by her children, A.J. and Giana; her parents, Marco and Elizabeth Galvan; siblings, Marco Jr. and Jovani; her in-laws, in-laws, Phet and Boualeuth Sayabath; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Sayabath; and their daughter, Maya.
