Meralda A. "Babe" Hansel, 86, of Elkader, died Jan. 28, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Survivors include her
children, Kevin (Roxi) Vorwald of West Union, Randi (Janene) Vorwald of
Elgin, Nancy (David)
Dennler of Elkader and Kim Vorwald of Elkader; five grandchildren, Brandi (Jeff) Burrow and Brynn Vorwald, both of West Union, Beth (Cory) Rood of Petersburg, Kylie (Kimberly) Vorwald of Decorah and Tannor Vorwald of Cresco; and eight great-grand-children, Tylen, Jace, Cael, Ayden, Rowen Burrow, Rhyker Klatt, Karver Vorwald and Oliver Rood.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and after 10 a.m. until Mass time on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
