Melissa Anne Crow, 42, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, in the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brave battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father Ivan Nienhaus as celebrant. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Mon-day, Oct. 12, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. Committal services will be in Keystone Cemetery, Keystone.
Melissa was born July 13, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Rodney Lee Crow and Kathy Rae Walton. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1991. Melissa worked for Amana Refrigeration and at English Valley Care Center in North English.
Melissa was a social butterfly and loved visiting with people. She enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, bowling, camping, flowers and landscaping. Her world revolved around her children.
Melissa is survived by her parents, Rodney (Cindy) Crow of Luzerne and Kathy Walton of Shellsburg; two sons, Kyle Stephen Allie and Lucas Spencer Allie, both of North English; one daughter, Mason Nicole Allie of North English; one brother, James Crow of Keystone; one sister, Monica Crow of Cedar Rapids; grandmothers, Marlys Floyd and Hazel Walton; uncle, Jeff Floyd; aunt, Becky Pippert; aunt and uncle, Laurie and Jim Walton; niece, Breanna Barnes; many other aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved dog, Puppy.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Floyd, Ernest and Adeline Crow and Raymond Walton; and her stepfather, Michael Cohrt.
