Melchert, Margaret 'Peggy'
Margaret “Peggy” Melchert, 81, of Strawberry Point, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Al Hock officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Roberson Funeral Home. Burial: Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Peggy was born Dec. 28, 1928, to John and Edna (Waring) Druger. She married Jack Melchert on Nov. 6, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point. Peggy had worked as a bank employee in Strawberry Point.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicky (Rodger) Greear of Marion; three granddaughters; one grandson; seven great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Barbara.
