Melba Mae Hutchcroft, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Friday, June 25, 2021, peacefully surrounded by her family at home.
She was born on May 30, 1929, in Prairie du Chein, Wis., to Harley and Loretta Kramer. Melba was united in marriage to Francis "Hutch" Hutchcroft on Sept. 21,
1957, in Marion, Iowa. She retired from
Bell corporation in 1979.
She is survived by her son, Brain Hutchcroft (Darcy) Darling; stepdaughter, Fran Davidson; nine grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and her pet cockatoo, Bree Hutchcroft.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hutch; sister-in-law, Mary Raye Hutchcroft; grandson, Dallas Anderson; and beloved pets, Tommy Thompson, Smokey Bear, and many other furry friends.
