Meints, Verla M. (Clark)
Verla M. (Clark) Meints, 84, of Dothan, Ala., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Bonifay Nursing Center, Dothan. Byrd Funeral Home, Dothan. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Byrd Funeral Home in Dothan, with visitation one hour before services.
Survivors include her children, Rick, Dianne, Gary, Sandi, Jackie and Teresa; brother, Robert Clark of Vinton; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bernie; and son, Dennis.
Verla Clark was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Manchester, Iowa to Bernie and Mildred Clark. She graduated from Center Point High School and Iowa State Teachers College. She married John Meints and had seven children. She taught school for several years and worked at Square D Corp. She moved to Alabama in 1970. She was co-owner of Spray-On Insulation until retirement.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center.
