Meier, Marguerite R.

Marguerite R. Meier, 99, a resident of Ridgeview Assistant Living died Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Graveside services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Per Marguerite's request there will be no public visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Jack (Reta) of Cedar Rapids; and a daughter, Jacquelynn (Richard) Rose of Des Moines.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, George; and a grandson, Jack Jr.

Marguerite was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Harry and Bessie Kloubec Smith. She married Jack A. Meier on Feb. 11, 1939, in Cedar Rapids. Jack passed away in 1984.

Marguerite worked at Cherry Burrell and retired from there after more than 12 years of service. She enjoyed canning, baking pies, traveling and especially the time spent with her fiends and beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be given to St Luke's Hospice.
